Flowing Hair Dollar Mintages and Specifications
The Flowing Hair Dollar was minted for just two years before being replaced by another design. The mintage of the 1794 coin is extremely low, making it a rarity in any condition. The 1795 coin has a higher mintage and is relatively more available, but still difficult to locate in higher grades.

The specifications of the Flowing Hair Dollar are based on the stipulations of the Coinage Act of 1792. Each coin has a composition of 89.24% silver and 10.76% copper, with a weight of 416 grains of silver. In some cases, the weight of planchets was adjusted manually by filing or adding a silver plug.
The diameter of the coins varies but is usually within the range of 39 to 40 mm. The denomination does not appear on either the obverse or reverse of the coin, but is indicated on the edge, which reads "Hundred Cents One Dollar or Unit".
